Assembly is fast because the hard work was front-loaded. Every character is already a finalized rig with sockets (Phase 2), every held prop has a grip-pivot (Phase 3), and animations retarget onto the whole cast (Phase 4). So a shot is just: place · socket · pose · light · shoot. This is where the whole pipeline pays off — and it's built almost entirely on this course's level, actor, and lighting foundations.
Nothing here is authored from scratch — you're arranging finished assets against the shot breakdown.
Open (or stream in) the environment level for this shot — the set assembled back in asset sourcing. Levels are the container everything else drops into.
Drop the finalized Skeletal Mesh characters into the level and position them per the storyboard, using ordinary actor transforms.
Attach held props to each character's hand socket — they land in-hand with no offset (that's the Phase 3 payoff) and stay correct through any pose.
Pick a pose (single frame) or a retargeted animation from the library for each character. The socketed prop follows automatically.
Light the shot to the storyboard's mood — directional sun + sky for exteriors, point/spot/rect lights for interiors, Lumen for GI — the lighting skills this course drills at length.
Shot assembly is the subject of Cinematics with Sequencer, which builds the Level Sequence, tracks, and camera cuts that arrange a shot. If shot assembly ever feels like heavy authoring — hand-placing a prop, re-rigging, rebuilding a character — something upstream was skipped. When Phases 2–4 are done right, assembly is pure arrangement, and you can turn around many shots quickly against the shot breakdown.
